Trent Alexander-Arnold out for ‘up to four weeks’ after picking up injury – report

Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold was forced off the pitch at the Etihad over the weekend, after picking up a non-contact injury in the 63rd minute.

The right-back looked in pain and visibly uttered the word “calf” to medical staff as he was clutching the back of his leg, prior to being subbed off for James Milner.

With the international break upon us, many hoped it may have been an elaborate plan to skip out on England duty, as Jurgen Klopp stated “[Trent] will be out for England, that is clear,in his post-match press conference.

But the uber-reliable Paul Joyce, of the Times, has confirmed the 22-year-old faces ‘up to four weeks‘ on the side-lines.

Trent will now join the Reds’ growing injury list, including Virgil van Dijk, Thiago Alcantara, Fabinho and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Our No.66 will likely return at the beginning of December, with the possibility of playing in the match against Wolves on the 5th.

Neco Williams will probably be the man elected to keep his hand steady on the tiller, with the Wales international seeking to impress in the coming weeks.

We’re all hoping for a speedy recovery for Trent, and that both Thiago and Fabinho are back to full fitness after the two-week break as they prepare for the Reds’ game against Leicester on the 21st.
